Yamaha RD/RZ350LC YPVS and RD/RZ250LC YPVS

The liquid-cooled two-stroke Yamaha RD/RZ 250 and 350 twins of the 1980s were an instant sensation, giving more smiles per cc than ever before. They were the first bikes to offer cutting-edge race-developed technology for the street, and indeed in the early 80's the RD350LC acquitted itself handsomely as the shining star of Yamaha UK's wildly successful Pro-Am production racing series; a thrill-packed championship that spawned such racing luminaries as NIall Mackenzie, Mat Oxley, Kenny Irons, Damon Hill, Rob McElnea, Roger Burnett, Graeme Cannell andSteve Chambers.

With unbeatable power to weight ratios and class-leading handling, these exuberant machines are excitingly quick even by today's standards, yet refreshingly light and easy to handle, especially for those with a lower than average inside leg measurement. As such, our customers find these bikes to be ideal for scratching around the mountain ranges, coastal twisties and highland sweepers of Tropical North Queensland.

The RD/RZ250LC and 350LC YPVS ('RD' is the European model designation, while 'RZ' is the prefix given to models in the US, Japan, Canada, Australia & others) were, more than any other motorcycles before them, extremely well-sorted 'out of the box.'

Rider's Say on the RD250/350LC YPVS - Martin Harris from the USA

"Absolutely the most fun ride ever! I have heard so many exciting stories about these bikes but by the time I got into motorcyling (1995) back in the US, two-strokes were pretty much off the menu as far as availability and legality was concerned. I always figured the Yamaha RZs must be really fun bikes - their 'outlaw' status back home just seemed to confirm this. Everything that's huge fun gets banned or curtailed by governments, right!?

So, like sipping illicit moonshine, my experience of riding a real live Yamaha RZ350 was a sweet, wild brew indeed. What I love about two-strokes is how everything smoothes out when they come on the pipe. The bike takes of, lifts up its skirts and charges off - like a boat getting on the plane or a plane taking off. It's like all the motive power on Earth is compressed into those hyperactive few thousand rpm."

I'll definitely be back to get my two-stroke fix. Maybe next time I'll go for the two-stroke 500cc GP experience, on the RZ500. Wow!"

Rider's Say on the Pegaso Strada 650: Ina from Germany
"Awesome!" "After only half an hour riding, I am in love with this bike! It's so light and easy to ride, and also unbelievably thrilling to ride fast. The low seat makes the bike easy to manage when stopped; the upright riding position is comfortable for all-day riding and the handling - well it feels like a chunky mountainbike to throw around. Yes that's it - it doesn't feel like a 'normal' roadbike at all. Usually they are too tall or heavy for me - but this Pegaso Strada is just perfect. It feels really powerful too, yet I feel in control of the power and brakes and everything.

Having never ridden on twisty mountain roads before, I find the Pegaso Strada to be the ideal machine to practice zig-zagging up and down the ranges. Above all, the joy and ease of riding the Pegaso makes it so fun to keep up a thrilling pace while enjoying the beautiful rainforest and coastal scenery."
